The Project

RightAngle received a request from a client who wanted to gain a deeper understanding of how companies make decisions to purchase electricity and natural gas to fuel their businesses. In particular, the client wanted to focus on entities with over $500 million in revenue and with multiple sites, preferably located across multiple regions and/or countries.

Specific Area of Interest

The client was especially interested in understanding how these large companies go about making energy procurement agreements, particularly organizations with operations in the United States, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and Australia. The client also wanted to learn more about how these energy procurement agreements integrated with the companies’ carbon emissions reduction targets.

Our Impact

Following a search for suitable candidates, we were able to locate several individuals with mid- to senior-level positions. After consulting with these industry professionals, the client had a much better understanding of carbon offsets, doing on-site renewable energy projects, and other factors that contribute to the strategies that large-cap businesses use to procure energy in alignment with their carbon emissions reduction targets.
